About Roza Nazipova

Born in Kazakhstan and raised in Russia, Roza Nazipova has lived in Scotland since 1991. A lifelong participant in the arts, she began painting seriously in 2015, setting herself a personal challenge to create 100 paintings in 100 days — the project was a sellout success with the pieces finding new residences in 16 countries.

Roza works primarily in acrylics, incorporating oils, watercolours and found objects. Committed to sustainability, she uses recycled materials and frames in all her work. Her practice explores abstract and landscape forms, often developed in themed series inspired by places, films and music.

Based in Edinburgh, Roza is married with one daughter. She collaborates with her daughter on creative projects and draws inspiration from travel, literature and art scenes around the world.

When she's not painting, she enjoys literature, film, yoga, walking and spending time exploring art exhibitions in her favourite cites: Venice, Barcelona and Paris.
